The Ticker|Analysis page is designed to graphically illustrate trends and mathematical relationships in a way that offers more insight than simply analyzing the numbers behind them. To select a chart, click on its link in the section above. To select a basic chart, select the data item to chart from the 'Basic Chart' dropdown and the chart will automatically appear in the display section below.

The charts currently available on the Analysis page are:

  • Capital Expenditures - This chart plots capital expenditures versus revenue, depreciation or cash flow from operations. The chart can be viewed with the values next to one other (bar chart) or as a ratio of one to the other (line chart). Requires Fundamental Module.

  • Cash Flow vs. Net Income - This stacked bar chart allows you to plot Net Income versus either Cash Flow from Operations (CFO) or Free Cash Flow (FCF). Requires Fundamental Module.

  • GAAP vs. Reported EPS - This stacked bar chart plots the earnings per share reported to the company's reporting agency (GAAP) versus the IBES actuals, often called pro forma EPS or Reported EPS. The difference between the two plots is referred to as exclusions. Requires Fundamental Module.

  • History vs. Estimates - A three part chart that shows 1) Predicted Surprise % history, 2) Mean Estimate History and Actual Reported Earnings and 3) the numeric values on which the charts is constructed. Requires Broker Module.

  • Income Breakdown - A ladder chart that breaks down the major components of income, beginning with Operating Income and ending with Net Income. Where data is available, a dropdown allows you to view the chart for the most recent quarter, the most recent four trailing quarters, or the most recent fiscal year. Requires Fundamental Module.

  • Margins - This chart plots gross, operating, and net margins for the company and its industry over time. Where data is available, a dropdown allows you to view the chart for individual quarterly periods, trailing-four-quarter periods, or annual periods. Requires Fundamental Module.

  • Operating vs. Non-Operating Income - This stacked bar chart plots Operating versus Non-Operating Income. Where data is available, a dropdown allows you to view the chart for either quarterly or annual periods. Requires Fundamental Module.

  • Revenue Growth vs. Accruals - A series of charts that plot revenue versus accruals for the company and its industry over time. The charts can help to determine if accrual growth is in line with revenue growth and to identify trends or pending trouble. There are three views of accruals: total accruals, inventory and accounts receivable. Where data is available, a dropdown allows you to view the chart for individual quarterly periods, trailing-four-quarter periods, or annual periods. Requires Fundamental Module.

  • ROA Components - This chart displays Return on Assets and its two main inputs, profit margin and asset turnover, versus sector averages. Requires Fundamental Module.

  • Valuation - This analysis details historical and forward-looking valuation metrics, growth rates and pricing comparisons.

  • Basic Charts These charts plot basic fundamental data over time. Where data is available, a dropdown allows you to view the chart for either quarterly or annual periods. The underlying values appear in a table below the chart. Clicking on the hyperlinked values will link to the appropriate financial statement. Requires Fundamental Module.
